Fondazione Filarete

Filarete Foundation for Biosciences and Innovation is an example of Public-Private Partnership devoted to improve the linkages between universities, companies and public administrations in a tipical Triple Helix environment, in the field of Life Sciences, Biotechnology, Health. Filarete Foundation was founded by: 1. the University of Milan, which has a large number of important activities in Life Sciences topics; 2. Fondazione Cariplo, one of the largest bank foundations in Europe which is very active as a grant giver in Life Sciences, Health and Human Capital education; 3. Intesa San Paolo, one of the largest banks in Italy. The Milan Chamber of Commerce joined the original founders as a co-founder in order to streghten the relationship with companies. The relationship with its founders, the areas of activity and the team working at Filarete Foundation give a strong background to positively contribute in achieving the project results and in implementing them.

Filarete Foundation aims at increasing and improving the level of cooperation between companies and laboratories to perform common research activities to obtain innovative processes and products in Life Sciences and Biotechnology. Moreover Filarete Foundation cooperates with research institution and with companies and companies' association in order to improve technology transfer mechanisms and, finally, it is committed to help researchers creating new ventures in the field, giving them support in terms of training activities, organization and participation in competitions for business ideas, connection with potential investors and partners for the development.
